Discover the Legacy Experience; learn about the legacy of Pearl S. Buck (optional)
Dinner and Awards CeremonyMusic by Hilltown Jazz
Held in the Garden Tent on the grounds of the Pearl S. Buck National Historic Site
The Pearl S. Buck International Woman of the Year award honors women who, like Nobel and Pulitzer prize-winning author and humanitarian Pearl S. Buck, have distinguished themselves in their career, devotion to family and pursuit of humanitarian goals.
This year’s honoree, Pamela Rainey Lawler, truly walks in Pearl Buck’s footsteps and has influenced the lives of countless women, children and families since she founded Philabundance in 1984. The organization has grown to become the region’s largest hunger relief agency serving more than 65,000 individuals every week.

In honor of the work that Philabundance does, we are asking guests to bring a non-perishable food item to the event. The food collection is a community service project being spearheaded by our Museums ConnectSM Defining Culture in Popular Culture program which pairs Souderton Area High School students with Chinese students in a cultural exchange to examine cultural stereotypes in the media landscape both here and abroad.
All proceeds support our life-changing programs that improve children’s lives and inspire others to continue the humanitarian work of our founder, Pearl S. Buck.
